Safe Physical Management training increases staff confidence in
potentially dangerous situations, reduces the number and severity of
physical encounters, reduces injury and increases staff ability to cope
with aggressive behavior in a way that does not lead to a recurrence of
physical aggression. |
Our Philosophy
Safe Physical Management, LLC educates human service providers in
crisis management and safe management practices to effectively prevent
and manage aggressive, self-destructive or disruptive behavior.
Our experiences cover schools, juvenile detention centers, RTCs, group
homes, shelters, hospitals, elementary and secondary schools, psychiatric
centers, acute care institutions, long time care facilities, schools for
socially, emotionally and physically handicapped children and foster care
agencies.
The program presents a system of gradual and graded alternatives for
de-escalating and managing people using a combination of nonphysical
interpersonal communication skills and physical interaction techniques
designed to reduce injury to all participants in an encounter.
Our method of passive restraint is a “hands-on” and “mind on” method of
therapeutic crisis intervention. Passive restraint, properly applied,
does not rely on pain or strength. It relies on leverage, caution,
concern and caring.
We also stress the importance of recognizing the signs and symptoms of a
potential crisis and safe intervention to de-escalate the situation as
quickly as possible within the least restrictive means.
A successful completion of our programs will ensure a knowledgeable staff
and a safe workplace. |
