Course Outline
Safe Physical Management training includes role modeling, awareness
development, participant observation, and the communication of concern
and respect. Crisis Intervention and Physical Restraint Training: Safe
Physical Management offers a wide array of training based on your
agencies needs and the population served. Our basic Crisis Intervention
and Physical Restraint programs are as follows: I. Crisis Intervention
Training:
One-day training course including content on theory
of aggression, appropriate use of nonphysical intervention, constructive
discipline, and stress reduction. Participants practice the use of
non-harmful escapes and defenses against physical aggression.
Training is available either on-site or see our training schedule
for
upcoming classes in your area. II. Crisis Intervention and
Physical Restraint Training:
Two-day training including Crisis Intervention
course content as well as instruction in our seven level physical
restraint system.

III. Trainer Certification Program (3 days):
Our instructors train your selected staff members
to become certified representatives of Safe Physical Management. After
their certification, your representatives can train and certify the rest
of your staff throughout the year.
This program is only available
as on-site training.
Training Packages
Crisis Response Team Training includes how to move and remove
clients. Consultations helping agencies develop policies,
practices and forms to support your crisis intervention physical
restraint needs. Workshops, Demonstrations and Lectures on
various aspects of child care, parenting, and related issues are also
available. Why Attend?

Administration (HCFA), Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law for children
and adolescents, the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, U.S.
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration, the U.S.
Congressional Senate and House.
- The State of Massachusetts Department. of Education is requiring
Physical Restraint and Restraint Avoidance Training through its Reg.
603 CMR 46.03. Other States are proposing the similar regulations.
